So Donny Dirk’s Zombie Den has been around for awhile now and yet none of my friends have ever heard of it much less been there. This saddens me as many people in this world do not have access to a zombie den hang out. Sure this bar is in the WTF middle of nowhere, north of the Minneapolis Warehouse District, but it’s easy enough to get to and parking is even free and aplenty.
Donny Dirk’s Zombie Den is a carefully thought-out bar that attracts a unique crowd. They play bad sci-fi and horror movies on the tvs and it’s a great place to go and hang out with friends (but not too large of a group since the place is the size of a shoebox). The cocktails are tasty and the beer selection is really nice, although I prefer the cocktails. Donny’s is owned by the same woman as Psycho Suzi’s Motor Lounge so if you have a craving for Suzi’s just pickup Donny’s “bat phone” and you’ll have a direct line to Suzi’s. It’s pricey to have Suzi’s pizza delivered but when you need it, you need it.
DONNY SAYS:
“Wine is fine, but whiskey’s quicker. People who have time for nursery rhymes don’t deserve my liquor.”
