Red Bull Crashed Ice & the Rider’s Cup

Afton Alps Ski Area is hosting the first International Ice Cross Downhill Rider’s Cup event on January 17 and 18, 2015. This event will be part of the Ice Cross Downhill World Championship rankings which determines both the World Champion of the sport and access to the Red Bull Crashed Ice Series.  Attending the event as a spectator is free of charge.  Click here for more information on this event.

In addition, the capital of Minnesota will kick off the Red Bull Crashed Ice season on the frozen banks of the Mississippi River! For the past 3 winters, Saint Paul has hosted the ice cross downhill competition, with a huge crowd of more than 100,000 people converging under the gaze of the imposing Cathedral of Saint Paul to witness the high-speed action that features skaters competing in four-man heats in a race to the bottom of a long ice track full with obstacles.

The Crashed Ice event is very fun and I recommend you check it out.
