The ash borer situation just keeps getting worse and worse. We lost our elm tree a few years ago and the only tree remaining in our backyard is a lovely ash that serves as a natural umbrella for the yard. We’ll be devastated if we have to spend another $1,000+ to remove this asset from our property. Thus for the past two years we’ve applied Bayer insecticide in the spring in an attempt to protect our tree. They say it can take a year or two until the insecticide makes its way from the roots to the top of the tree, so if you love your ash trees and hate paying for costly removal, start planning to treat your ash trees this spring before it’s too late!
