This is a tad different than elementary school… The first and third Saturdays of each month the 331 Club hosts a Drinkin’ Spelling Bee. The $6 entry fee includes one Grain Belt Beer and the chance to win more free beers by passing a spelling round. The next Bee is this Saturday so grab a dictionary and a beer and start practicing!

The Bearded Lady Motorcycle Freak Show and block party returns to 13th Avenue once again, bringing with it the usual horde of weirdos, gearheads, oddballs, and of course, freaks. Crafternooners, please join us for quilling on February 12th at the 331. You too can master this ancient art, which involves creating sculptural masterpieces out of coils of paper. Your $10 kit will include a special quilling tool, so that you can quill to your little hearts content even after Crafternoon is over, and a plethora of custom quilling paper to get you started on some kick-ass-quilling. We will also be providing other paper supplies if you also wish to make a couple Valentine’s or anti-Valentine’s Day cards.

Join us Sunday January 8th at 2pm for a bit of needlepoint fun at Crafternoon Delight. We will be making our own embroidery templates from the lovely pictures provided by the ladies of Crafternoon or from pictures you bring and then embroidering the crap out of them! Embroidered portraits make lovely wall art and great presents (if you aren’t sick of giving).
Admission to this edition of Crafternoon will be $15 and will include a kit with the following materials for making your embroidered portrait: embroidery hoop, embroidery floss, 2 embroidery needles, transfer pencil, transfer paper, felt, fabric and iron-on adhesive.
