The Cromulent Shakespeare Company presents free performances of The Merry Wives of Windsor, Shakespeare’s silly farce filled with colorful characters, physical comedy, music and audience participation.

The Merry Wives of Windsor centers around courtship: three potential suitors vie for the affections of the lovely and eligible Anne Page while opportunist Sir John Falstaff attempts to woo two married women of Windsor. Hilarity ensues with disguises, mistaken identity and busybody matchmaking. “Think of it as an Elizabethan ‘Real Housewives of Windsor’,” says director Erin Caswell.

Sorry, I kind of dropped the ball and you’re getting really late notice this year.  At least it’s not too late to see a show!  Thanks to Pocket Your Dollars for a reminder.

Shows are held on multiple dates at various Metro Area locations.  Click for a full schedule.

Free Shakespeare in the Park: Julius Ceasar

Nothing is new–even in politics. In this play, a close friend of Julius Caesar is cajoled into joining a group of vengeful conspirators who fear that Caesar is becoming too powerful. The conspiracy is successful, but was it to the nation’s benefit? Lessons unlearned in history, plague us still.

Come watch a free production of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar by the Cromulent Shakespeare Company at local parks in the Twin Cities this June.

Full schedule.
