We will place luminaries along the trail and skating rink, you bring your friends and family to share the magic of the evening. Enjoy roasting marshmallows at an outdoor fire, or have a cup of cider around the fireplace in the Visitor Center (while supplies last). Skating Pond will be cleared on Snelling Lake if ice conditions permit so bring your skates and join us for this annual event. This event co-sponsored by Northstar Trail Travelers. (www.nstt.org)

This event is free but will require a vehicle permit ($7/day or $25/yr).

Each tour will take a two-mile loop to the Upper Post, where many World War II-era buildings still stand. It will begin outside the historic site’s Visitor Center. Led by members of the Friends of the Upper Post preservation organization, tour groups will walk to the Upper Post to see the old barracks, headquarters and other structures that were a part of the largest military base in Minnesota.
