Kramarczuk's knows sausage!

Please join us for great beer, great music, great sausages and a fun time at our Daily Planet Winter Party and Sausage Fest on Thursday, February 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Summit Brewing Company in St. Paul. Artisan sausage is a hot new food trend, and we’ll have eight top sausage makers sharing the best of their wurst.

The beer: Summit is generously donating their beer and use of their Ratskeller. They’ll have seven different brews on tap – Extra Pale Ale, Horizon Red Ale, Maibock, Pilsner, IPA, Great Northern Porter and Oatmeal Stout, plus 1919 Root Beer

The music: The legendary Brass Messengers will perform, with a repertoire that ranges from “music of the Carribean and Balkans to high speed polka to heavy metal for the Black Sabbath crowd, and our own originals. Our music of choice is anything that fits in the twisted brass tubing, from originals to “covers” from around the globe, as long as it makes a joyful noise.”

The meat: Eight of the Twin Cities’ top sausage makers are contributing their wares – including The Black Forest, The Butcher and the Boar (opening in February at 1121 Hennepin Ave.), Clancey’s Meats, the Green Ox Provisions, Kramarczuk’s, the Modern Cafe, NateDogs and the Sample Room, and we’ll round out the feast with sauerkraut, German potato salad or other side dishes. Veggie brats and tofu pups will also be available, plus Dan Brady’s legendary chocolate chip cookies, made with the eggs of free-range chickens from northeast Minneapolis. (Really). You won’t go away hungry.

The Summit Brewing Company is located at 910 Montreal Circle, St. Paul MN.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door – if any tickets remain.

On December 8, join Summit Brewery for a fundraising event for the Invisibile Children’s Protection Plan.  The even twill feature a screening of The Invisible Children documentary film.  Your donation ($15 suggested) will include all you can drink beer and root beer, food, live music by We are the Willows, The Person and the People and Better Bones.  There will also be a silent auction.

City Pages Beer Festival

One Day. One Love. It’s the 19th annual City Pages Beer Festival, one of the longest-running events of its kind in the Midwest, Saturday, June 4, 2011 in downtown Minneapolis. Open to the public, this outdoor beer sampling event features a variety of the best domestic and imported beers available at metro area MGM locations, live music from two bands – SellOut Stereo and Visceral, accordionist Bill Koncar and the Brian Boru Irish Pipe Band & more!

The City Pages Beer Festival is held downtown in the Theater District.  Come sample our new, larger home just off First Avenue North & 10th Street in Minneapolis (about one block southwest of the Orpheum Theater). More space, more flavor and more restrooms! Parking is available across the street or in the various downtown ramps near Target Field or the bus depot.

Advance tickets are $26, available at select MGM locations (new Lake Calhoun store near Whole Foods has the most tickets) and online. Tickets will be available at the door the night of the event for $30. An $8 designated driver ticket is also available. Admission includes all beer samples and live musical entertainment. Event is rain or shine.  DEAL ALERT: Goldstar is offering discount tickets at under $20.

Avoid the lines by getting the VIP Experience for $45.  Enjoy free appetizers, unlimited Shock Top samples, seating & more.   Limited VIP tickets available – these sold out last year and are NOT available at the door.

Compare the taste of a low carb beer to the not-so-low. Try the latest seasonal summer brews from some of your favorites along with the latest lemonades and other “malternatives” – the experts will be on hand to share the facts and dispel the fiction about all of their products. Last year we had products from Abita Brewing, Anheuser Busch, August Schell, Blue Moon, Boston Beer, Boulevard, Capital Brewing, Cold Spring, Crispin Cider, Deschutes Brewery, Diageo Guiness, Finnegans, Goose Island, Grand Teton, Green Mountain, Heineken, Herkimer, Latrobe, Leiney’s, Lift Bridge, Margaritaville, Michelob, Moosehead, New Belgium, Odell Brewing, Pabst, Pig’s Eye, Redhook, RJM, Schlitz, Sierra Nevada, Summit, Surly, Widmer and will have many others this year!

A portion of proceeds from the tasting will benefit the St. Paul Jaycees.
