Goldstar is offering a limited number of tickets for $0 + $8.50 service fee (Reg. $36) to Fierce/Feminine: Dance by Women Choreographers at the Cowles Center.  This is a great opportunity to see professional dance on a “movie ticket budget.”

Minnesota Dance Theatre shines the spotlight on a trio of female choreographers with a program of bold, breathtaking works entitled Fierce/Feminine: Dance by Women Choreographers. Rising star Emery LeCrone returns to MDT for her second choreographic commission. Nuanced, ingenious and fresh from the stage at just 26, LeCrone contributes several works to the show, including a world premiere. Joanie Smith, 2012 Sage Award recipient for Outstanding Choreography, brings her international reputation for “virtuosity, substance, craft, and pure abandonment” to the repertory performance. And Minnesota Dance Theatre founder Loyce Houlton, after 34 years of creating, teaching and producing dance, is renowned for her Nutcracker Fantasy. She’s also one of the first American women to gain international recognition through her distinct aesthetic and a lasting legacy of trademark repertory. Featured in the show is Knoxville, Summer of 1915, one of Houlton’s own personal favorites.

With this Twin Cities daily deal, receive one mens haircut, cappacino, T-shirt, scalp and shoulder massage, hot towel mini-facial, post haircut rinse and product application at the swanky Mens SPA. for $19 (reg. $40).  This is one of my husband’s favorite places to get his haircut.  I think it’s pretty hard to get creative with conservative mens styles but they seem to be able to add a little extra style with their cuts, without going wild.   New customers only.

At the MENS SPA a Men’s Haircut is designed to the unique nuances of every head shape and hair type. This MENS SPA package begins with a complimentary cappacino during your brief wait for your appointment. To take customer service one step further, we offer our clients a t-shirt to change into to ensure their shirt will stay hair-free. The service begins with a scalp and shoulder massage, hot towel mini-facial followed by your designer haircut. To wrap-up, you will receive a post haircut rinse and product application/styling.

Free and open to the public

Once again, Sailing Lake Calhoun is offering free sailboat rides this summer!

Participating is 100% free and they have nothing to sell or promote, other than meeting new people, sharing experiences and having a good time.  I took advantage of this offer a few times in the past and had a blast learning to sail and enjoying the lake.  It’s a great activity for out of town guests.

You really have to love the Twin Cities and the awesome people here!

To participate, first print/fill out out a waiver.

Weather and health permitting, rides are offered 7 days a week from afternoon until sunset, May through mid October.  Just come to the public sailing dock, at Lake Calhoun … which is at the north-east corner of the Lake: 3000 Calhoun Parkway East, Minneapolis, MN.  You might have to wait 15 minutes or so if they are out on the lake but they’ll be by soon enough to pick you up!

For more info, see their website and Facebook Page.
