The 2012 Macy’s Flower Show

In partnership with Bachman’s for 48 years, Macy’s Flower Show has delighted generations of floral aficionados with spectacular presentations of lush gardens that showcase thousands of live flowers, plants and trees from around the world. This year’s event showcases the wonder of Brasil through lush tropical garden presentations that depict its unique landscape, culture and famed celebrations.

Showcasing the wonder of Brasil through lush tropical garden presentations that depict its unique landscape, culture and famed celebrations, the 2012 Macy’s Flower Show, “Brasil: Gardens by Bachman’s”, will be a feast for the senses. From the Amazon rainforest and the samba pulse of Rio de Janeiro, to its legendary carnival celebration, a South American botanic wonder will take root in the heart of the city.

The design of this year’s show takes inspiration from the famed works of Brazilian landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx. During his lifetime, Mr. Marx’s nature-based, modernist aesthetic brought splendor to international urban landscapes from Copacabana Beach to Kuala Lumpur. This unique urban meets nature combination will serve as a blueprint for the show’s architecture and landscaping.
