BareBones Halloween Outdoor Puppet Extravaganza

Throughout the fall, hundreds of artists, young and old, from near and far, come together to build and create an expansive performance for BareBones Outdoor Halloween Puppet Extravaganza. Centered around themes of joyful play and resilient underground networks in the face of commodification, We All Fall Down will take audiences on a journey through life, death, grief, and peace. The show will feature illuminated puppets, stilt walkers, fire performers, aerialists, and a live orchestra. All of these creative elements will combine into a show that celebrates the season and honors our friends and family who have passed on.

We All Fall Down begins with children at play, representing the need we all have for joyful play as a part of our lives. But as time passes we see that play becomes structured with rules, and when taken to an obscene level, we see the commodification of play. We move into a scene of pomp and circumstance, and the ego becomes so large that it collapses. Out of the earth the resilient underground networks will grow, allowing everything to regenerate once more, bringing the show to a close.
