Bike Donation Drive for SPOKES

SPOKES needs your old bike. SPOKES is an innovative community bicycle and walking resource in Minneapolis. They strive to bring communities together through bicycling and walking. SPOKES is open to everyone, however an important part of their mission is to provide education and free or low cost, reliable bicycles to communities that may not be already bicycling (or walking for transit) in large numbers. These include the East African community and other communities made up of recent immigrants or people of color living within South Minneapolis. They strive to provide an accessible, welcoming, and non-intimidating space where members of these communities as well as women and GLBTQ folks can learn bicycle repair and safe cycling skills. Volunteers play a key role in their work. Their programming includes free Open Shops, Earn-A -Bike, Adult Learn to Ride, classes on bicycle repair, safe cycling classes, classes on safe walking and youth specific programming. Please help them with their important mission by donating a used bicycle which you no longer need. They will give it a second life and provide you with a donation receipt.

Drop off your donation at REI Bloomington (or at SPOKES; 1915 E 22nd St MPLS if that is easier for you) on October 19, 2013 anytime from 9am-5pm.
