Watch the interplay of darkness and light create a groundbreaking spectacle when Shadowland comes to St. Paul. Created by Pilobolus after several years of experimentation with short-form shadow play, this performance is part shadow act, part dance, part circus, part concert. It’s a first-of-its-kind work conceived in collaboration with Steven Banks, lead writer for the playfully surreal animated series SpongeBob SquarePants, and propelled by a rhythmic original score by the popular American musician, producer and film composer David Poe. The performance combines Pilobolus’ legendary approach to modern dance with high-energy and fast-paced multimedia innovation, including multiple moving screens of different sizes and shapes. Marvel at the merging of projected images and front-of-screen choreography when Shadowland comes to the Ordway’s Music Theater.
