REVIEW: Blue Man Group

Twenty-five years after its origination, Blue Man Group remains one hot ticket.  The Blue Men and their Glo-Paint-clad backup band provide a thoroughly entertaining show that is truly suitable for all ages.  The performance is largely silent comedy with a bit of creative music and a dance party thrown in to ensure you have a good time.  Overall, the show was really enjoyable and interesting.  I was only disappointed with one scene that went way too long in, what I presume was an effort to give the entire main floor a close up look at the Blue Men.  All in all, the two hour show–with no intermission–flies by and leaves you craving more.

If you go…

  • This is one of those shows where the good seats on the main floor really get the best experience.  You may want to splurge if you’re buying tickets to get in on more of the fun.
  • Bank of America customers may be able to purchase specially-reserved floor seats close to the stage.
  • If you want to get up close with a Blue Man, don’t leave the theater too quickly… they will pose for photos and selfies in the lobby after the show.
  • If you have any deep seeded issues with Twinkies or Marshmallows, this probably isn’t the show for you ;)

Blue Man Group is at the Orpheum Theatre through Sunday, December 20, 2015.  Tickets start at $39.
