Nine Nights of Music

The popular series, now in its 16th year, presents the rich and vibrant rhythms and sounds of Minnesota’s multi-cultural community at free outdoor performances at the Minnesota History Center.

6:30 to 7 p.m.*: Dance instruction provided by Tapestry Folk Dance Center (with recorded music).

7 to 8:30 p.m.: Live music and dancing.

Listen to infectious music and get out your dancing shoes for saucy salsa, soulful Motown, and classic big band swing! Co-sponsor Tapestry Folkdance Center provides instructors to lead the way.

Bring a chair or blanket and a picnic, or purchase food from the History Center’s Cafe Minnesota. Admission to museum exhibits is free on Tuesdays from 5-8 p.m. In case of rain, performances will be held inside the History Center’s 3M Auditorium.

In case of rain, performances will be held inside the History Center’s 3M Auditorium (decision will be made by 3 p.m. the day of the show). Auditorium seating is limited to 336. First to arrive will receive a number to guarantee seating. Beginning at 5:45 p.m., these numbers will be distributed at the Kellogg Blvd. Entrance. Auditorium doors open at 6 p.m. No one will be allowed entrance to the auditorium after the numbers have all been given out. No food or drink allowed inside the auditorium.
