REVIEW: Dinosaur World Live
Dinosaur World Live at the Children’s Theatre Company is a delightfully simple, 50-minute adventure that brings dinosaurs to life through impressive puppetry. The performers skillfully control the dinosaurs’ movements and sounds, making several of the puppets feel impressively lifelike. Designed with younger viewers in mind, the show is an ideal outing for kids ages 3–7, who will be thrilled to see their favorite prehistoric creatures brought to life. It’s a short, engaging introduction to live theater for the dino-obsessed set. I asked my 4 year old to complete this review by answering a few questions.
Q: Did you like the show?
A: YES!
Q: Was it Dino-rific?
A: YES!!
Q: Do you think others should go see it?
A: YES!!!
I was going to end the interview there but he insisted that I also note that it’s like PBS’s Dinosaur Train show in that “it’s not too scary.” I wouldn’t compare it to a cartoon show, especially since one audience member under 2 years old definitely thought it was too scary. I think this goes to show that if you’re child is in the swee- spot age where they can understand the dinos are just puppets, while not finding that reality a turn off, they’re in the right age range for this show.
Dinosaur World Live is at the Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis through April 5, 2026.
