Subprime the Play

Subprime is described by its author as a play about denial, a quintessentially American trick that Minnesotans have mastered in their own special way. The play was developed here in Minneapolis’s Linden Hills neighborhood, was workshopped in New York, and is now making its debut in its native city.

Set in the summer of 2008 when the economy was imploding and so many were persuading themselves that things would be just fine, Subprime introduces us to two Linden Hills couples on a fun-filled bargain vacation to New York, who are in crazy denial about the state of their finances, their marriages and even their identities.
