The Macy’s Flower Show runs March 27 – April 10 this year. During this period Macy’s will host two weeks of special in-store events such as cooking demonstrations from local chefs, an artist marketplace, a men’s designer preview event, and Bouquets of the Day. The main event is the Towers of Flowers and will feature renderings of 10 iconic structures, including the Eiffel Tower and the Leaning Tower of Pisa, all of which are 12 to 16 feet tall.
The two-week event showcases millions of live flowers, trees, and plants from around the world, and it takes months of work to get the floral displays and gardens ready for the big reveal. MPLS St.Paul Magazine states that it takes 3,000 hours of labor, 24 truckloads of plants, flowers, and soil, and support from 40 local electricians, florists, landscapers, artists, carpenters, and visual specialists to put together this 4,000-square-foot landscape.
