The MPLS Institute of Arts Birthday Block Party

Join us for a BIG party celebrating the museum’s 100th Birthday Year! This event is FREE and fun for all ages.

We’re doing it up big and shutting down 24th Street in front of the museum for a block party that’s sure to be fun and creative for all ages.

Live music and performances by Mu Performing Arts, Dérobé Dance Band, The Bazillions, Brass Messengers, The Golden Bubbles, Duniya Drum and Dance, Children’s Theatre Company, Minnesota Orchestra, and Minnesota Opera.

Hands-on art-making: activities include a collaborative balloon sculpture, party-hat making, birthday-wish strings, art car painting, and soccer scarf decorating with Minnesota United FC.

Food trucks: The Sioux Chef’s new Tatanka Truck, Mik Mart Ice Cream, and TOT BOSS.

More fun: the Mall of America pop-up prize truck, confetti photo booth, hula hoops, and lawn games!

The Birthday Block Party is presented by Target.
