The Women in Crisis Film Series: The Amy Fisher Story

You may recall the last Women in Crisis Film Series Event: Mother May I Sleep With Danger.  Well folks, that event sold out and it was absolutely hilarious.  I spent most of the evening wiping the tears of laughter off my cheeks.  Be sure to bookmark their next event coming up in February.  What is The Women in Crisis Film Series?  A panel of gays take a really bad movie and “rip it to smithereens.”  It’s kind of like Mystery Science Theater 3000 but replace sci-fi movies with Lifetime Original movies and instead of robots they have gay men dressed in drag.  There will also be a costume contest for the best Amy, Mary Jo or Joey.

On May 19, 1992, a shot rang out on a Long Island door step that launched three made-for-tv movies, two porn careers, and made “Buttafuoco” a household name. Come celebrate the latest unsympathetic viewing by the Women in Crisis Film Series crew, “The Amy Fisher Story,” starring Drew Barrymore. Break out your Zubaz, beepers, and Valtrex and don’t forget to bring a scrunchy or two. Our panel of lively gays will mock the film in real time and you’re invited to compete in the “Amy & Joey Costume Contest” for prize packages!
