WIN TICKETS: The Women In Crisis Film Series

Longtime readers of the blog know that The Women in Crisis Film Series events are at the top of my list for things to do in the Twin Cities.  The WICFS generally includes a screening of a Lifetime Original Movie being mocked by a panel of sassy, merciless gay men.  The shows also include trivia, prizes and are simply a ton of fun.

This time around, they will feature “Desperate Lives” starring Helen Hunt and Christina Crawford (not really)!

When Joan Crawford’s daughter (bland Diana Scarwid) finally grows up and realizes her dead movie star mother isn’t going to leave her any money in the will she becomes a high school guidance counselor because that’s where the real money is.  She quickly realizes that this school is crawling with druggies and pushers (leave it to her to know where to find the boys AND the PCP).  A ridiculous plot ensues which can’t decide who is the protagonist and Helen Hunt snorts white powder and jumps out of the second story chemistry lab window and scratches her wrists open with the glassy remnants screaming, “BUGS!!”  If you hated Mad About You you’re gonna love this.

I’m thrilled to have two pairs of tickets to give away to their next show on September 6th at 10pm.  To win tickets, be one of the first two to correctly answer the trivia question in this Facebook post.
