REVIEW: Ringo Starr’s All Starr Band

The Ordway was rocking Sunday night with Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band. Along with a sparse number of Ringo’s Beatles’s hits, the group played the All Starr’s hits as well including songs from Toto, Santana, 10cc and Men at Work. It wasn’t the most predictable combination of songs, focusing on the 80s more than I expected not previously knowing the “all starrs”, but the audience kept swaying and singing along. Standouts included Santana/Journey star Gregg Rolie and Toto’s Steve Lukather as well as their respective hits including Black Magic Woman/Oye como va, Africa and Evil Ways (Willie Bobo cover).

Unfortunately Ringo and his pals were only at the Ordway for one evening. To view a list of upcoming shows headed to the Ordway, click here.
