This Monday, July 11th, is Como’s Community Night in which the zoo stays open until 8pm. Visitors at this month’s Community Night will have a chance to win prizes, make fun flamingo hats, and catch a glimpse of the flock of artificial pink garden flamingos that have been popping up all over St. Paul. These flamingos were part of a guerilla marketing campaign to support Community Night and promote Travelers Sunset Affair, the annual Como Friends benefit that takes place at the zoo on July 21.
For this special Community Night, guests are invited to decorate and bring in their own flamingos for a chance to win prizes. Entrants can drop off their flamingo submissions at the Visitor Center from 10am – 6pm on Sunday and 10am – 6:30pm on Monday. The flamingos entered in the contest will be on display at the zoo throughout Community Night.
In addition to the decorated flamingo competition, there will be a drawing for two tickets to Travelers Sunset Affair, a $300 value.
Also, if you’re taking kiddies to this event, Como Town’s Star Light Saver unlimited ride wristbands will be half price from 4pm -8pm!
