Help take care of St. Paul parks

The Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Department has established a tradition of hosting an annual Spring Parks Cleanup event to collect the trash that has accumulated over the winter. Now, with the help of the Department of Public Works and their Come Clean! initiative, the event has transformed into a citywide effort to clean our parks, neighborhoods, and streets.

Without the help of volunteers, trash accumulates in many areas, polluting lakes, rivers, and detracting from the beauty of our community. This event is a fun and effective way to improve our natural environment while also contributing to the overall beautification of Saint Paul.

The 2012 Citywide Spring Cleanup, has been scheduled for Saturday, April 14th from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

This year, there will be four concurrent kickoff celebrations throughout the City:

Como Lakeside Pavilion (1360 N Lexington Pkwy)
Harriet Island Pavilion (200 Dr Justus Ohage Blvd)
Highland Pavilion (1200 Montreal Ave)
Phalen Pavilion (1600 Phalen Dr)

Come to the Kickoff to pick up your supplies, enjoy complimentary coffee and donuts, enter a drawing to win some awesome prizes, receive further instruction on what areas in the parks need the most cleaning, and hear from your Councilmember or City representative. After the Kickoff Celebration, you will head off to your park or neighborhood of choice to clean up from 9:00-11:00 a.m. (or whenever you are finished).
